Role: Christmas Families Organizer
Ministry Area: Mission, Service & Witness
Purpose
Term: 3 years.
Role Summary:
Reaches out to families in the community to deliver gifts and food.
Responsibilities:
1. Contacting Goochland and Louisa Social Services in the late fall to secure two (2) families from each county. We usually try to get at least one family from each county with children plus maybe a husband and wife or a single parent and child.
2. Work with Social Services to establish a “wants and needs” list along with sizes of individuals in the families.
3. Assign families to Sunday School classes who will shop for clothing and gift items. Request the church membership to bring food items over a period of several weeks.
4. Deliver packages and food boxed to Christmas families about a week before Christmas.

Estimated Time per Month: This position is seasonal, requiring time only in the fall and Christmas season.
