Purpose:
Term: Annual, may be renewed.
Role Summary:
Coordinate activities & information with and about church members who are unable to regularly attend worship services and activities for those who are homebound, either short-term or long-term. This may include carrying communion to nursing homes, organizing “thinking of you” cards, encouraging visits from one of the choirs or other groups of the church, coordinate audio and/or video recordings of the worship service.
Responsibilities:
1. Encouragement of, and coordination with, groups within the church to reach out to the homebound of the congregation.
Skills:
1. Ability to motivate groups within the church to reach out to members who are not able to attend regularly.
2. Good listening skills.
3. Organizational skills.
4. Good interpersonal skills.
5. Good communications skills.
