Located in Louisa County, Virginia but very close to Goochland County, we're about 30 minutes west of downtown Richmond, and about 45 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. We're an exciting, growing church and invite you to join us this week. Check out our bulletin for this Sunday! Our congregation is one of devoted followers of Jesus Christ, our savior. In our quest to be servants of Christ, we participate in many community activities. We are involved in local missions in Goochland and Louisa counties, building wheelchair ramps, repairing roofs, and other home projects. We also assist homeless shelters in Richmond. We are actively involved with the Goochland Christian Churches Association. We have sent several teams of youth and adults to Mississippi to work with those affected by Hurricane Katrina and will be sending teams to Haiti. We believe that being servants of Christ requires us to be more than "Sunday Christians." We are rewarded for all we put into the church and community with a better understanding of God's unconditional love. Through special worship events and service projects, members of our congregation enjoy tremendous fellowship within the congregation. We do live re-enactments of the Nativity scene and Jesus' last supper with his disciples. We also host an annual revival in August, in which we invite guest speakers to come share the Good News of the Gospel. From September to May, we have our Wednesday Night Program. We serve dinner beginning at 6 pm, then break out into many activities, such as Bell Choir, Adult Bible studies, and study opportunities for all ages. At Gum Spring United Methodist Church, we are blessed to share God's love with each other, and although we are blessed to share God's love with His children outside our sanctuary walls, our pews always have room for one more.
